Corona Virus Protocols

Rock Creek Leadership is prayerfully considering our response as a church to the World Health Organization update on the Coronavirus to Pandemic status, and the Oregon State ban on gatherings of over 250 people. It is important to know that we have 0 confirmed cases of anyone in our church community having the Coronavirus, but as the situation grows globally and domestically, our response becomes increasingly necessary.

Our orientation to the Coronavirus pandemic is twofold:

1. We will stand together in faith, not bowing to a spirit of fear! We ask that you join with us in prayer against this virus and contend for the health and protection of our local community as well as our global community.

2. We will act in wisdom. It is entirely possible to carry this pandemic virus and never experience any symptoms. Because of this, we will do what we can to limit the unintentional spread of this disease. For the time being, we will continue our service on Sundays and keep our pantry open on Tuesdays with immediate implementation of the following recommendations and protocols:

  • If you are part of what the World Health Organization refers to as the "vulnerable contingency of people," which includes anyone over 60, those with heart disease, diabetes, lung disease, compromised immune system or are experiencing allergies, cold, or flu like symptoms; the recommendation is to please stay home* in order to reduce exposure.

* If you stay home, we will be live-streaming our Sunday Services. PLEASE join us online at:

For those who come to our campus:
  • Avoid touching of hands or physical contact with others. We will add chairs to help maintain seating space.

  • Wash your hands immediately upon arrival and/or BRING YOUR OWN hand sanitizer to use before and after your visit.

  • Hospitality food and beverages will not be served. However you are welcome to bring your own coffee/tea in a closed lid container.

Our Response in the Community:

As the coronavirus runs its course, the needs of our community will only increase. We want to be able to rise to the needs of our community. More people will need more food as they experience a loss of income due to illness, and work or school closures. With school closures, children who receive sometimes 3 meals per day will need to be provided for.

How you can help:

  • If you are able, please consider helping with our pantry. We expect our current volunteer availability to decrease, while the food need increases to well over our current level of 100,000+ meals per month. In addition, our elderly and/or health compromised clients relying on services from our food Pantry may need special assistance receiving food. If you are able make food box deliveries to people’s doorsteps in our community, please let us know right away. We will need help with this!

  • We are asking our donors to continue their faithful generosity to their giving strategy as we may have lower attendance over the coming weeks, while at the same time we may be experiencing greater expenses.

There are several convenient ways to give:

  • The best way is through your own online banking. Rock Creek Church 4470 NW 185th Ave. Portland OR 97229

  • Giving by mail.

  • Text to give: 503-831-9995. and enter the amount, for example: 100, and then hit send.

We are going to continue to pray for wisdom about what we can do to contribute to defeating the coronavirus once and for all!
